The only smart take on Bolivia’s election is that if it wasn’t for Evo’s stupid ego, they would’ve had this election a year ago and without a semi-dictatorial, racist, religious extremist taking the presidency for months.
But whatever, if Bolivia exported lithium, or cobalt, or nickel, or whatever
before, they will continue to do so now. I don’t think elon cares if it goes to state coffers or to private ones.

You say that... but... the best French pastries and baked goods I’ve ever had were at a French Bakery place in Saigon on a side street near the river. It was habit forming; between jetlag and hunger I’d be up every morning at 5 to go get coffee and fresh stuff at the boulangerie.

Colonization is a very traumatizing experience, and it makes access to resources very unequal... so I think it’s somewhat natural for Bolivians to want public control of stuff... it gives them a semblance of say as to what happens.
But it doesn’t mean there’s no exploitation of the resources... latin american socialists are a bit like soviets when it comes to the enviroment.
